Whether you are having standard medical Microneedling or Radiofrequency microneedling the treatment time varies from 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Side effects of treatments usually consist of mild swelling, burning, dry skin and redness. We would advise the use of an ice pack post treatment to help alleviate any discomfort with this. Side effects can last from 24-72 hours post treatment and aftercare will be given to follow post treatment. More serious, but rare side effects can include infections, inflammation or cold sores. These are very rare, and the risk is greatly reduced by visiting a reputable clinic with medically trained practitioners who can also prescribe treatments for any issues that may arise. Pre care is just as important as your aftercare. Prior to attending we advise all clients to: - Avoid alcohol 48 hours before (alcohol can increase bleeding and bruising) - Avoid herbal medicine and vitamins for 7-10 days before - Do not use the sunbed or sauna for 72 hours before your treatment - Do not have any laser treatments, aesthetics treatments or other facials for 2 weeks before - Contact us if you are taking any prescription medication or if you have any medical conditions as these may contraindicate your treatment.

Depending on multiple factors such as areas treated and a person’s individual perception to pain will define if an area hurts or not. Numbing cream will be applied when you arrive for your appointment. Microneedling alone is usually very comfortable, Microneedling with radio frequency can be slightly more uncomfortable but topical anaesthetic will be used. Our nurses will always take pain into consideration during the assessment and do everything we can to reduce this.

Generally, clients notice tightening, and a more even tone to their skin, a week or two after their first session. For areas with deeper imperfections, results can be subtler, and additional treatments are always required. Since Micro-needling stimulates new collagen and elastin production, the skin renews itself approximately every 3-4 weeks, most clients notice a good result after session 2 and after more treatments these results will continue to build for up to 6 months.
